A few different combinations of the 304 308 Holden 355 stroker kits for sale are listed below.
Conrod Journals: There are basically 2 options: The 355 Stroker kit with "Holden" conrod journals and the other 355 Stroker kit uses a Chevy LJ 2.100" conrod journal. There is an uncommon kit that uses the smaller Chevy journal of 2.000", however these are not popular.
Conrod Lengths: Now there are a few options of 355 stroker Conrod Lengths. They are the factory Holden Conrods @ 5.627" long, The Chevy 5.700" length and the Chevy 6.000" length. What’s the difference in 355 Stroker Kits with conrod lengths? Well, a cheap 355 stroker kit will use the Holden Conrod journal stroker Scat crankshaft and therefor you can use your original Holden conrods, this makes it the most affordable 355 stroker kit. The most popular Holden 355 stroker kit uses the Chevy 5.700" conrod as this kit has many options for conrod choice and also utilises the popular Chevy piston (standard stroke piston). The other popular choice is the 355 Stroker using the Chevy 6.000" conrod and this also uses a "Stroker" 383 Chevy piston due the pin height matching up.
Holden Stroker Crankshafts: As mentioned above, there are 2 stroker lengths, the popular 355 Stroker (3.480") and the 383 Holden stroker (3.750"). The more popular 355 Stroker combinations have 3 different conrod journal sizes, they are the Holden 304/308 size (2.124"), the popular Chevy LJ 2.100" and the not popular Chevy SM 2.000". Lastly, there are 2 options in material strengths, the Cast 355 stroker and the 355 Forged (4340) stroker crankshafts. A popular choice is the Cast Scat Holden 355 Stroker kit.
355 Stroker Pistons: Now when you stroke your holden to a 355 stroker, you need to make sure you have the correct 355 piston pin height also known as compression height (gudgeon pin height). Total Performance stocks both of the popular 355 stroker pistons combination using a 5.700" Chevy conrod and also the 6.000" conrod piston heights. Most combinations use a flat top piston. When using the Chevy pistons, there are small valve reliefs which do not affect the performance. There are pure flat top Holden 355 stroker pistons, however these are more expensive as these are specially made vs the high volume off the shelf Chevy pistons.
